So much has been said about how DLSU Women’s Volleyball Coach Ramil de Jesus keeps on winning, even as players come and go.
He has been at the helm for 20 years and has won 10 championships, including 2 three-peats, 2 back-to-back championships and 17 Finals appearance. His players have become his biggest admirers as he patiently develops them to be the best they could be. Starting with his first MVP, Iris Ortega, all the way to the latest MVP Majoy Baron, Coach Ramil just keeps building.
Coach Ramil was a multi champion player with FEU under Coach Kid Santos, who he would later face when he coached DLSU.
When he was recruited by Mr. Ramoncito Campos, then head of what is now the Office of Sports Development, for Season 60 of the UAAP, nobody expected that his penchant for winning would last for 20 seasons.
However the best way to find out just how good of a coach he was, is and will be, is by looking at his coaching career numbers. Thanks to the ever reliable Gerry Achacoso of the Office of Sports Development for the history of Coach Ramil’s 20 years at DLSU.
Recently, he was inducted into the DLSU Sports Hall of Fame. For Coach Ramil, the best is yet to come.
